Sun Shines on the Silver Horse!
Amazingly, for the third year in a row, it was a glorious sunny day for the Silver Horse Mixed Open competition held on the 17th September. The competition is going from strength to strength with returning visitors as well as new faces from clubs as far afield as Blairmore and Strone on the Cowel Peninsula. Yes, the word has spread….Florence’s meringues and Chris’s Dumpling Cake are definitely legendary!! There was plenty of good golf on display too with impressive scoring. It was a home win this year, with Chris Coyne and Jackie Wright turning in a net 60.8 to come away with the first prize of lovely ladies and gents Accurist watches. This is the THIRD time Chris has lifted the trophy – very well done. Gents, join the queue to partner her next year! 2nd prize went to another Strathendrick pair, Barbara Bolt and Stuart King, with a net score of 62.8 3rd prize went to Sister and Brother pair, Gina Coleman (Dumbarton G.C.) and John Clifford (Strathendrick) with a score of 64.6 So, it was a very successful competition for the home players this year.
