The altered layout is as follows:
  • 1st - as usual
  • 2nd - Tee off as usual to a temporary green at the top of the slope just before the 2nd green.
  • 3rd tee is part way up the hill, through the trees
  • 4th - Tee off in the wrong direction up the 6th fairway. Try to keep to the right and avoid players coming down the 6th. A temporary green is 3/4 way along the fairway.
  • 5th - After putting the temporary 4th green walk to the right, over the brow of the hill to a temporary 5th Tee. 
  • 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th as normal.

]]><![CDATA[Loch Lomond Whisky Gents Medal Result]]>Fri, 11 Jun 2021 14:18:24 GMThttps://www.strathendrickgolfclub.co.uk/news/loch-lomond-whisky-gents-medal-result5982161The June monthly medal had an added benefit this year with inclusion in Strathendrick's events that are part of the Loch Lomond Whisky promotions. 
There was a fantastic entry of 32 competitors with the worthy winner and runner up, Alan Palmer and Alan Needham respectively, both scoring 61. They will both be entered into the Loch Lomond Whisky Draw, as well as picking up their prize of a bottle of Malt on the day!

Member Stuart MacInnes took some fantastic drone footage on the day and compiled a short video that really shows the magnificant condition of the course. Thanks to greenkeeper Gavin Rutherford and greenkeeping volunteers for all their hard work!

This was a team Stableford event.

The  winning team, pictured below, was:
Tommy Orisma (Cawder), Colin Bourhill (Carrick),
Colin Crawford (Cardross/Strathendrick), and Alan Crawford (Cardross).

The highest scoring pair was:
Stuart McQueen (Strathendrick) and Paul Gallacher (Clydebank & District), with a total of 42 Stableford Points. Stuart and Paul will be entered into the Loch Lomond Whisky Draw where prizes include VIP tickets to the 2022 Open at St Andrews, golf day at Kingsbarns and dinner at the R&A Clubhouse. We wish them luck!

Temporary winter greens are in play throughout the course. The temporary green for the 8th is in the middle of the second fairway. The temporary green for the 4/13 is reached by playing back along the 6th fairway. Winter rules apply, either tee up on the fairway or play from the nearest point in the semi rough. Remember to lift your tee pegs.]]>
